Introductory Coaching Skills
In a world where the development of human potential is the most valued currency, coaching provides a key to unlocking it.
We all know that it's often easier to just 'tell'. Tell our team what to do, what the solution is, where to look, what the priorities are....
But we also know that often doesn't lead to their growth or instill confidence that we believe in their potential.
Coaching is when we pause, are curious, and use great questions and listening skills to enable others to explore their own potential in our presence. We support and challenge. We listen and probe. We send the message 'you are more capable that you know - let's explore that capability together'.
-
Based on sound research and models, this is a very practical course, designed to enable all participants to find their own coaching style, and to identify what they will need to really embed these skills in their day to day professional lives.
-
Line managers come away from this programme equipped with the confidence and belief that they can coach their team and achieve much greater results than just 'telling'.
-
HR professionals often choose to practice coaching the leaders and employees they partner with. We explore what can be a tricky balance between coaching whilst also providing strategic input.
This one day introductory programme develops awareness of the great potential that coaching affords us. It includes a Cliftonstrengths assessment code which can be redeemed online to bring further insight into how your particular strengths may show up as you coach.

While this outlines the core, each programme is different as we start by really listening to each delegate to understand your context, particular questions and challenges. I believe in co-creating the priorities and emphasis during the programme, and will contract with each cohort as we go along to ensure the best outcomes for each delegate.
We use varied approaches, mixing up input, scenarios, role-plays, video clips, case studies and breakout discussions.
Only when training is individualised does it really take root, and so I invite input from each delegate prior to the programme to understand your individual goals, and to enable me to provide customised resource recommendations throughout.
